Castle Craig

Castle Craig stands on the north shore of the Black Isle, overlooking the Cromarty Firth, Highlands. The 16th-century tower house is significant as the only remaining castle of the Urquharts on the Black Isle, and is ruinous. FAS Heritage were engaged to undertake a Historic Buildings Assessment supported by historical research to better understand the lost layout of the tower house, its ranges and barmkin (enclosure). A Historic Building Investigation was then carried out including photographic, topographic and measured surveys which secured a detailed, accurate record of the monument.
