Falkland Palace

Falkland Palace is a Royal pleasure palace with an extensive formal garden, and one of Britain’s oldest tennis courts and the site of a Royal Hunting Lodge, used and beloved by Mary, Queen of Scots. Phases of work can be related to James II, and later his queen, Marie of Gueldres and King James IV and V. FAS Heritage were commissioned to undertake a detailed study of the East Range to inform repair and conservation. The study illuminated the complex phased development of the Renaissance palace showing the potential for future detailed study of the entire palace complex.
