Publication
A core element of our ethos is communicating the results of research projects in an accessible manner as an important strand of outreach. We have produced a range of publications including research monographs which present the results of archaeological campaigns in a non-technical, lively style serving both archaeologists and non-specialist readers. Our publication portfolio includes the results of research excavation at York Minster, Lincoln Castle, Eilean Donan Castle and Portmahomack, Tarbatness.
The team at FAS Heritage can also help with work on post-excavation management on legacy excavation archives to bring unpublished sites into the public realm. We have worked on the publication of a large number of past excavations undertaken from the 1970s and 1980s onwards including the Late Roman to Anglo-Saxon cemetery at Wasperton, Warwickshire, the Late Anglo-Saxon town at Stafford, the Roman fort at Lease Rigg, the Roman bridge at Chesters and South Shields fort. We are also able to prepare high-quality artefact illustrations for publications including lithics, ceramic, glass, ferrous and non-ferrous metalwork, sculpture, architectural stonework and bone and stone items.
We welcome enquiries about any aspect of publication outreach and legacy projects.
